Great for warmth but terrible for comfort I was so excited to get something for the snow...its very hot so you can't wear it all day like I did. Basically only when you know you are going to be outside for long periods of time. Which I'm not but live a winter city so thought it would be good to have a snow boot. Comfort is poor..the boot is quite narrow and I find you probably have to go a size up. Also so you have to make sure your feet don't sweat inside and have enough room so size would matter. I know the foot bed is removable, a great feature, but not sure if my orthotic can even fit in cause of the narrowness. Also it is rigid so not flexible which is hard on my ankle as well. My feet did get a bit swollen after hours of wear and my pinky toe was crushed inwards. I wear a size 7 and ordered 7.5 and still my toes are being squished. Maybe the 8 would be better for width. But they need to improve the actual footbed of this so it it is better for your feet. I feel they focused on waterproofing, grip and warmth and forgot about making sure you can walk for long hours in it. I also thought it would be taller then it was from the pics but I'm ok with the height. I think this shoe is a bit of trial and error you may have to just order to see if it fits. When I got it I thought it felt great for a day or two but then my feet started to hurt.

Extremely cold I bought this boots because of the billing they were extremely warm and good on ice. Well my feet were freezing in only -10C weather. They have almost no real insulation. I was very disappointed.

I really wanted to love these boots! I first heard about these winter boots during an online article where a research lab had rated these boots very highly. This is due to the Vibram Arctic Grip sole Sperry has chosen to use. I have trouble walking on ice, so I was really excited to be able to order these boots! I phoned to ask whether the boots are true to size, and the friendly customer service rep wasn't sure. I can tell you that I normally am a 10-1/2 Women's, and I ordered an 11 in the black colour. When they arrived, I was really excited to try them on. They are a very nice-looking boot, and the black suede has a tiny "waterproof" tag affixed near the top of each boot. They seem warm, BUT the reason I didn't rate them more highly is because of the sizing. The boots are definitely "true to size" in the length. The pair in 11 Women's gave enough room lengthwise. BUT when you slide your forefoot into the boot, there is no room to move your foot from side-to-side. Having your foot in these boots feels as if there's a steel band around your foot; it's extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the suede didn't seem to stretch at all, so I've had to return them. Also, there is no listed "comfort rating" for these boots. What I mean by that is a lot of winter boots will say that they protect up to -30 degrees Celsius, for example. That would be very helpful. I have since found out these boots are "comfort rated" up to -23 degrees Celsius. I was surprised Sperry would not make them for colder climates than this. I believe the fake fur is supposed to be throughout the inside: instead, there's a clear strip in the ankle area that is missing the "fur." I thought the lack of fur was a defect found in one boot only. Unfortunately, this missing "fur" is inside both boots too. If there were more fur in the ankle area, the boots would likely be warmer. In short, if the toe box could be constructed to allow for more side-to-side movement AND more "fur" were added, these boots would be great. For now, I have to look elsewhere for a warm & practical winter boot for ice, and that's a real shame!

Best boots I've ever owned These are the best boots I have ever owned. The fit and the fact that you don't have to tie the laces. Waterproof and the best grips in Canada! Love the height and the warmth. Great looking too! I highly recommend these boots. Great for Nova Scotia weather!

Great winter boots I've had these boots for about a week. It's snowed a couple of times since then so I've been wearing them pretty much every day. So far they're the best winter boots I've ever had. They are comfy and warm and easy to put on and take off. I am always afraid of falling and feel more secure in them than in anything else I've worn in bad weather. To date I'm very happy with them.
