US Sailing Team Sperry athlete Stu McNay discovered his passion for sailing at Tabor Day Camp as a child. In the years since first learning to sail, Stu and his teammate Dave Hughes have sailed in several world-class sailing events in the Men’s 470 Class and have emerged victorious and earned medals around the globe. The pair most recently earned a bronze medal at the European Championships and as a result their success at the event, the pair was selected to compete in the Summer Olympic Games at Rio in 2016. This will mark McNay’s third career appearance at the Olympics after past trips to Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012.

Watch the video above to learn about Stu McNay’s life on and off the water and to learn how he “Follows Through with Passion” both as a husband and father and as an accomplished sailor on the US Sailing Team Sperry.

“I feel fortunate that this gold medal dream has stayed with me for a long enough time that it can be a reality. It’s not just a dream 15 years in the future. It’s a very real possibility.” – Stu McNay of the US Sailing Team Sperry
