After 3 races on Sunday, June 12th at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Chicago, 3 different winners crossed the finish line in first place. Ultimately Artemis Racing came out on top after strong performances in all 4 races in the series, securing a spot at #1 for the first America’s Cup event on fresh water. Skill, speed, tactful precision, and experience lead Dean Barker and SoftBank Team Japan to two wins and a podium finish, coming in 3rd at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Chicago. Jimmy Spithill and ORACLE TEAM USA came in 5th place overall at the event, but have maintained hold of second place in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series overall.13416923_1371846412841788_7766599241963377890_o ORACLE TEAM USA maintains a 2nd place lead overall in the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series while SoftBank Team Japan sits in 5th. 13392055_1371846399508456_3413023404176852792_o Nathan Outteridge’s Artemis Racing finished in 1st overall in Chicago with Sir Ben Ainslie’s Land Rover BAR crew coming in a close 2nd place. With three events now complete, sailors from the six America’s Cup teams will now embark on a new Odyssey at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Portsmouth on July 21-24, 2016 as the Race to Bermuda 2017 continues. Our Play of the Day from Sunday’s America’s Cup showdown in the Windy City shows Artemis Racing’s win in Race 3 of Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Chicago. After another great result in Race 4 they went on to win the event. For a team who has struggled with inconsistency, we saw no sign of it on during this series of races.
