Leilani Sanchez found that the “intimate, special feeling” of off-the-grid Brooklyn boutiques was what was missing from Miami’s shopping scene. “All we saw down here were stark, white spaces and super high-end stuff.” Her new project MIMO Market (Miami Inspires Modern Originality) caters to a local crowd in the burgeoning Wynwood neighborhood – where art galleries and coffee shops sit comfortably away from the craziness of South Beach. Sanchez says, “We want people to feel like they can pick up a great dress for $50, in a laidback setting… that’s an experience we were missing down here.”
Even though I live in sunny Florida I still love to layer (the AC can
be brutal!) No matter where you live, lightweight layers are essential to staying warm and stylish this fall.
A white shoe is very Miami. There’s just a hint of silver
sparkle on the top of this shoe that I love. It’s a cool update
to a classic design.
I love menswear–inspired watches and big faces,
and this watch hits those notes. But they added a little
bit of a feminine touch with the light band.
Ankle booties are a big trend for fall and I love how the
cognac color of these goes with everything in your closet
– it’s a timeless shape and a timeless color.
What I love about shorter boots is they look great with a dress or skinny jeans... whatever
you want to rock. These are going to be getting a lot of wear this fall. With or without socks.
The peasant top is my ode to bohemian style. I paired it
with the ankle booties again because I feel like this is a
transitional look that works for the end of summer into fall.
