Where Heritage Meets Contemporary
The first official collaboration between Sperry and MONSE, this fresh partnership reimagines the classic boat shoe through a deconstructed lens. Designs are modern, effortless, and elevated, integrating MONSE’s contemporary sensibility with Sperry’s heritage silhouette.
From a spark ignited during their time as co-creative directors at Oscar de la Renta, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia co-founded MONSE ten years ago as a creative outlet for their disruptive approach to fashion. Grounded in deep respect for structure, couture, and artisanal skill, the label—now entering its second decade—continues to push boundaries, redefining American luxury with playful sophistication and uncompromising craftsmanship.
“For our first foray into footwear, we wanted to create pieces that look modern, and truly wearable,” said Laura and Fernando. Though our brands are different, we share an unbreakable appreciation of craftsmanship, effortless wearability, and timeless style. Seeing our iconic silhouette reborn as two new Authentic Original™ boat shoes–one a bold platform, the other, a juicy-hued jelly style–has been nothing short of inspiring. It’s all thanks to MONSE’s distinctly modern approach that reinvents classic nautical elements while honoring Sperry’s maritime DNA.
The Sperry x MONSE campaign plays like a fashion exhibit in progress, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the shoot and the collaboration’s artistic spirit. The studio is layered with soft light, rich textures, and gallery-inspired elements—including ladders, classic oil paintings, and gilded frames—creating an intimate, painterly backdrop for this tradition-meets-deconstruction collection.
